Default Thunder Header Slip ons or Hooker Slip ons ?

Folks,

Just got a new FLHRCI. Have had Thunder Header Slip ons (duals) in the past and have been happy with them. I've heard from my local shop that they are hard to tune and reduce dyno results in some cases. Looking at Hooker Slip ons with adjustable HP and torque baffles. Evidently these are easier to tune and have better results on the Dyno.

Has anyone had experience with these two? Also, love the Thunder Header sound, but haven't heard the Hooker slip ons - are they anywhere similar? Louder, quieter, tighter, lower?

Any help would be appreciated in making my decision.....

Thanks Again....

Firts off I love the Thunderheaders. So I shouldn't even be posting, but O'well. I have the 2-1 Thunderheader and my Dad has the Thunderheader slip-on's with V&H Duals and he loves them. About the tunning????? I've heard it has alot to do with the Dyno tuner. If he knows what he is doing I don't think that their would be that much of an issue between the two, But that's just my opinion. If you've had Thunderheaders before and like'd them? Then that would be enough for me to go with them again. Good luck....

I agree with going with the Thunderheaders. They would have been my next choice, if I didn't go with the Rineharts as my first choice.

I looked at the Thunderheader specs and the Hooker Specs, and heard both pipes. While not quite as loud, the Hooker pipes offered a bit more output in HP/Torque (numbers aren't always right, okay) and I liked the appearance of the slash-cut Hookers better. Having followed behind Thunderheaders, I'm glad I bought the Hooker slipons.
