Default 2009 roadglide

Hey guys
A friend of mine just bought a 2009 roadglide !!!!
Hes coming off a heritage so of course the glide is a bit tall for him !!
He has a 29 inch inseam!!
Does the roadglide have the same shocks as the street glide?? or is the street glide lower because of the seat!!!
He needs to get it down about 1 1/2 inches!!!

thanks hes not a member on here but will be soon!!!

Cheaper to have his shin bones cut and screws put in to raise his inseam.

To answer your question......No the shocks are not the same.....seat plays a role as well as the shocks.

The street glide has 1" shorter shocks.

He can buy a lowering kit rather than changing the shocks.

The owner's name is Tracy. He's a stand-up guy with great service.

New seat or lowering kit will work. He will probable get use to it though. You can just put left foot down. Lean it to that side. Right foot on brake anyway.

He could also purchase the SG shocks and a Reach seat. I did that on mine and dropped 2" and came about 1" closer to the controls. Just another option.

Redwing work boots will give him an extra 1" and is cheaper than shocks or seat. I used shock off-sets on my old RK. It lowered the bike 1" for less than $100.

If LEO gets it we want pics of him on it. We know how Leo loves the Road Glides. Would be a shame too waste the moment.

i have a friend who had the same dilema. he's got an 09 roadglide and he's vertically challenged. he got the reach seat, and the streetglide shocks will lower the bike another inch. roadglides rock. this friend sold me his 09 stock roadglide seat and i'm using it on my 08 streetglide, and what a tremendous difference in comfort. i'm tall so the higher seat didn't matter to me. comfort does though, and those roadglide seats really are great, for me anyway.
