what vest did you get? I have a HD vest that was given to me but I keep popping the buttons open and was looking at their vests too.

Go with Just Leather (obviously)
Get the traditional "CHP Coat" similar to #2 in your pics.

I'm sure Fox Creek is great, but like you said being local, plus they will tailor it to you. I'm sure anything you buy there is (still) lifetime warr, plus alterations (if you gain or lose 50 lbs).

Great people!!!!!

I like No. 2. Number 1 looks like a nice dinner jacket.

Man, I'm going to hold onto that link for Fox Creek. To me it looks like a awesome product. As far as your question, number 2 is definitely more of a riding jacket and number 1 a casual jacket. It really depends on your purpose....

I like #1 as a riding jacket. No collars, etc., to flap around. Also like the vents. I have an HD jacket of similar style to #1 and have loved it for the last 4 years.

#2 is my fav by far. It's much more a motorcycle jacket than #1. At least in my book.

But YOU have to like it...also, frankly for a really big guy, I'd prefer the "tougher" looking #2.

I'll vote for #2. But now I am a guy that is happy with jacket I bought from a local biker shop who was having all his leather made in Pakistan, or some other "stan", out of who knows what kind of leather. He would buy somebodies leather jacket, for instance, and send it over there and tell them to make some just like it. He had a pair of leather overalls, patterned after a pair of "Big Smith" overalls that I really liked, but they didn't have zippers in the legs so I passed. My jacket has held up real good for about 5 years now.
