There really is no comparison to the ride. You give up a lot to ride a Harley. It is no different than what is given up to ride a flawless '57 Chevy. We can love them, but they are in no way comparable to the experience that you have when enjoying progress, instead of nostaligia.
Think 09 corvette vs. 57 Chevy. Both are very nice. But they are worlds apart. You just have to choose which one you prefer...
Test ride a Vision.... I dare you...... you will never look look at your shaking, grumbling, bad-*** harley the same.. because you will know what you are missing...
To each their own....
BUT
Vic has some good looking machines. However, I just cannot like the Vision series. They seriosely have a Vespa look that I just can't get past. I want to ride a MOTORCYCLE...something that has a soul.....moody like a woman.....not a friggin F-22 Raptor state-of-the-art. machine. I give it to anyone that does like them and wants that sort of a ride....I am just looking for a ride at the end of the day...a connection with the road and wind and to feel in tune with my machine.
Live and let live.......
I can see George Jetson riding on one....or if your a little more on the preppie side....
I paid cash for my 08 Ultra, looked at Victory...............they hurt my eyes, so my money went to HD!! (glanced at the BMW also, but it was never really in the running. went from Heritage to Ultra.....no regrets!)
that victory vision looks like something that george jetson would ride. i've never seen such an ugly bike before. i've read road reports from the magazines, and that was a great way to waste two minutes. i would have no interest in a victory no way no how. one reason is cause there are like two victory dealers for how many harley dealerships? dealer support is very important to me. as well as parts availability. i'll keep my 08 sg, that being said, i like my imac computer, when the world runs on pc's.
to add, i think the vision is about the dorkiest looking bike i've ever seen. i wonder if you're required to have a plastic white pocket protector to ride one? hell, they even make a honda goldwing look attractive in comparison. harleys still rule the roost.
