Just wandering if anybody has upgraded to the floating rotors on the front wheel? Did you notice any better braking results? Been thinkin about upgrading.............
I did it on an old bike of mine when the front rotor warped. I don’t know that it made braking any better over an un warped stock rotor, but it sure was an improvement over the warped one I had. LOL
Same as above. Did it on my last Ultra. It didn't make a noticeable difference so I didn't waste the money this time around. You'll get much better bang for the buck by installing a stainless braided brake line. The bike won't stop any better, but the lever feel will be much nicer.
if you're thinking of the harley floater, it's not really a floater, kind of a faux floater.....
the inner ring is bolted to the outer so it looks like a floater but it's solid, no movement between the inner & outer which is why they are so much cheeper than the true floaters out there.
i had them on my last RG and they worked much better than the warped rotors i replaced but not any better than the stock rotors when new.
I had Harley "floater's" on my last two Ultras.
All I noticed is that they made more noise.
My '09 RG got stainless braided lines.....much better feel.
I bought the Lyndal floating rotors because I warped two sets of one piece rotors. The Lyndal's have a lifetime warranty. I didn't see a big difference in braking but they haven't warped yet.
