Different Tail Light Lens?

Different Tail Light Lens?

I have a blue dot tail light lens I would like to put on my '01 Electra Glide Classic.

It looks like the same shape as the one on the bike, but the one on the bike has a reflector and rubber gasket inside the lens.

Is there any way to get that out or do I have the wrong lens?

I believe if you unscrew the two screws on either side of the existing lens you will find that it pulls right off of the assembly and you can put your new lens on.

I've taken the lens off the bike and that reflector is glued in there or something. I don't want to pry on it and risk breaking the plastic.

heat it up in some boiling water. that will soften the glue and you'll be able to separate the reflector from the lens.

sounds to me though that your 'new' old lens is missing some pieces....
