first long trip
on june 1st my girlfriend and i leave for tennesse from wisconsin headed first to murfreesboro for 5 days then on to pigeon forge tennessee for 4-5 days(to ride the dragons tail). this is our first long trip any suggestions on what to bring with. i dont have to worry about clothes. my parents are going also but are driving down in their suv so i wont have to worry about packing clothes. we have an 06 street glide with a tour pak so we will have plenty of space. were bringing a change of clothes and leathers for the ride down. any suggestions on what other neccessities we might need?

What Matt said. Smokies get a lot of thunderstorms. Usually don't last long, but leave the roads wet for a while. Smokies are cool above 3,000 ft., esp. in evening after rain. Have fun on the Dragon's Tail. Check out Smoky Mountain Harley in my old hometown, Maryville. Used to ride the tail when we just called it U.S. 129. Left my share of footpeg filings there off my old Triumph. It's one magnificently engineered highway. Very crowded now -- ride early in the morning to beat the non-stop parade of bikes and sportscars. Go to Killboy.com to see photos and get latest news of what's happening there.

drink plenty of water and/or sports drinks. stay hydrated. Stay off the dragon, too many crazies, bikers and cagers. you can't even ride to enjoy the ride for the idiots.

after about 2 weeks of owning the bike i put an 8 in sin city windshield on it now im not getting beat up by the wind buffetting im 6'04" and now the wind just hits my forehead.
