Sounds like the bases are covered for gear. As far as the Dragon is concerned... stay away on the weekends. When you do the Dragon consider going up it then on to Robbinsville, NC (18 miles). Pickup hwy 143 to the right and ride the Cherohala Skyway (turns into hwy 165 TN). The views are great and the curves are sweeping (you passenger will appreciate that, after the Dragon). It's about 50 miles long and ends up in Tellico Plains, TN.
