Bought my 84 Chev Blazer in 86, Sold it in 2006 with 100,000 miles on it, still looked as good as the day I bought it, bought a new PT Cruiser in 2006 and hope to keep it at least 20 years, bought my FXDC last year and that is a keeper, cant see me changing it in any hurry, probably keep it until I cant hold it up any more

I'm planning to keep mine until the wheels fall off... and new wheels will be here this week! It's paid off and I'm keeping it.

Which will be a nice chunk of change too. My Dad will be 76 in October. He bought a Suzuki Burgman scooter a couple of years ago, has over 15,000 miles on it and loves it. I know scooters aren't high on most Harley riders lists (and that's Ok) but it works for my Dad and he has no problems handling it, even when it's loaded up for a trip. As long as he's happy and able to ride, I'm thrilled.

To answer the subject line question, I rode my third past bike (bought used) for 5 years (1988-1993), my second past bike (bought new) for 6 years (1993 to 1999), my last bike (bought new) for 10 years (1999 to 2009). I see no reason not to keep my 09 Ultra at least that long unless it gives me reason not to or I get to the point where I can't or don't want to deal with the weight anymore. Right now, trikes aren't on my radar to own. I've never been a fan of vehicles with an odd number of wheels, but who knows, that might change in time!

Ride Safe,
Steve R.

don't really give a **** about my cars, i keep oil in them and try to keep them serviced but they are only transportation; thats it.

as far as how long i keep my bike, i have had 2, my kawi i had until i got the ok from the mrs to by an HD, this is my first HD, and i will never get rid of it.

i'm not sayin i won't own other bikes, in fact i look forward to ownin somethin more comfortable some day. but i try to listen to those who came before me and i have NEVER heard say they don't regret gettin rid of their first harley.

i look forward to the day i see my grandson ride off on this bike.

As long as my 08 keeps going, I don't ever see me trading it. I love verything about it (except for the throttle module) but this will be my last unless I get rich, which I doubt. It'll make a good trike one of these days when I can't hold it up or remember where I'm going
