Default rinehart install tip?

hey guys i just got my rinehart true duals on and love em. i would like to replace the head flange nuts with some locking nuts cause everyone says the original ones will loosen up on you. so my question is will i have to take the pipes off all over again or can i just replace the nuts. since tightening the nuts is the final step i figured you could just replace them with no harm.next question. my right muffler keeps slipping back from the header pipe so i really need to take it off and retighten the muffler clamp and reapply the copper high temp silicone.and the same question will i have to take everything off before removing the muffler or would it be o.k to just fix. i dont think the muffler clamps do a damn thing, i torque them properly and the muffler still moves a little. thanks guys

Default RE: rinehart install tip?

You should be able to replace 3/4 of them without taking anything loose. The top one on the rear cylinder is the problem on mine. I have to take the bolt out of the bracket at the starter and loosen the exhaust stud nuts to get that one off/on. To remove the muffler, take the two 1/2 inch nuts off on the mount under the saddle bag, loosen the clamp at the slip joint and shake the hell out of it til it comes loose. Make sure that you install the pipe from rear to front. Tighten the 1/2 inch nuts at the rear, clamp at the slip joint, tighten the bracket bolt on the starter (space the pipe off of the primary first) and the exhaust stud nuts. That order SHOULD make sure the clamp gets a grip on the slip joint with the pipe/ muffler aligned. That may be why it is coming loose. Hope it helps.
