Default Anyone installed a hydraulic clutch?

An associate and Harley rider of 25+ years suggested that I put a hydraulic clutch on my 09 RG. Says it is one of the first things he does whenever he gets a bike.

Has anyone done this and if so what do you think of a hydraulic clutch versus OEM ?

I did on my 02 Ultra, but this was before the reduced effort clutchs. And Harley did make it easier in the past since they had a kit to do that. Seems they have eliminated that option from the parts book.
I think it should be standard just for appearance, and I will be doing my 08 Ultra at some time in the future.

Its easy to install , just take off the old clutch cable setup on side of the tranny and install the new hydraulic actuator. Run your new line to hand controls and done

Put one on my 04 Fatboy last year and then traded it in on an 09 Street Glide this spring--go figure?

The hydraulic was not easier to pull than the new easy pull clutches, but is was very smooth and constant pressure througout the pull--and not cable to lube, adjust, or break. I will probably stay with stock on the 09 for now, but would consider going to hydraulic in the future.

I had hydraulic clutch on 2 Metric bikes prior to my FLHT, and man, it really is a plus. Smoother, maybe, better pressure, yes, more reliable/maintanance free, yes. If they're not much, I'll do it. Never really thought of it till now. Good post.

Friend of mine installed one on his SG. It takes much less effort to engage and is quite a bit smoother than the standard cabled clutch. Most, if not all of the 'parade' bikes have them because they're constantly clutching. It's definitely on my 'to do' list.
