I mean really, what are you going to do to an Ultra Classic? Add a coffee maker? .
...... i know that's s'posed to be a joke, but really... since the GW reportedly HAS an espresso machine built into the plastic somewhere, MoCo would just be accused of copying if they went that route, and copying metrics is not a big Harley trait. Jus sayin'
........ oh, and regarding any 'extended view' upcoming model year scooter speculation, i'm skipping 2011 & 12 entirely & focusing on the 2013's and MoCo's 110th Anniversary RG LTD in Pearl Yellow w/it's standard 110" motor that all i'll need to add is a cam, SEST & pipes to enable an effortless glide on Gawd's Own Motorcycle.
..... and, no....... i am not biased ;-}
With the the losses they've been throwing, the layoffs they have had, the possibility of moving out of the York, PA plant where our Tourers are made, and dealerships going out of business ...
I'm more concerned with Harley just hunkering down and surviving for the long haul than I am with any new models right now.
I'm always impressed with how many new accessories, bells and whistles, the MOCO comes up with each year. Look at all the electronics and intercom stuff. GPS. Paint set ideas. Wheels. Etc.
Personally, some day I'll buy a Standard Road King or EG, IF they still make them. Or else gotta go used.
Question- what do you want in a new design, or new model Harley?
I don't know whats coming and I know the economy has probally put a damper on R&D but something I see as a simple improvement would be a radio with Ipod interface and a docking station up front or in one of the hard bags. If that was to much trouble a simple SD slot in the radio would work. It seems like the cost would be low and another selling point for HD.
