So I like the vivid red and black limited, asked my dealer for trade difference from my 09 ultra like new w/ 1500 miles (just got it a couple months ago). 10 grand. I'll be keeping my 09.
Fantastic looking bikes though!
Yeah you can do alot of engine work, paint and add-ons for $10k. My wife wanted me to look into trading our 09 Classic in on a Limited. The bath I would take would probably be alot worse than yours.

i had the same idea of trading.

I had ordered and paid for a 2010 Ultra from the exchange here in Iraq in June. After seeing the new bikes specifically the Limited, I went yesterday and changed my order for a Limited in Flame Blue Pearl/Vivid Black. I wanted the bigger motor but it also already came with the features that I ordered on my basic ultra (ABS, security) plus extras.
Good move. I picked up my 09 Ultra through military sales as well, and the price was unmatchable by any dealer here in Tampa (3 dealers in a 15 mile shot group). I sat on the Limited yesterday. SWEET! The gauges are LED and backlit, look really modern. The 103 speaks for itself. The new 5th gear is great...no mechanical whine. New O2 sensors, 12v plug in the trunk, oil cooler, heated grips, ABS, security, and the chrome wheels look fantastic! Congrats! You're going to love this bike!
No bag guard rails makes this bike look pretty sleek for a bagger as well!

I can get this new Limited right now for 10% off MSRP.
Of course I have to pay freight and setup....and TT&L when I go to license it. Fun to think about.
AAFES overseas sales....one good thing about being in Afghanistan.

Joe:
The AAFES price INCLUDES freight and setup charges. When you pick your bike up at the dealer of your choice, you pay nothing except TTL. No other charges or fees are tacked on, either by AAFES, and shouldn't be by the dealer. Watch the dealer carefully. Believe it or not, many of them know very little about the military sales program, and will give you bum poop. I've bought two bikes now through mil sales (2003, 2009). Let me know if you have any issues/questions. Regards, A06
