We are fighting the Boston Law, if ya like to ride and modify your bike got to join your local ABATE, or in my state it’s MMA. There is strength in numbers look what happened in Laconia.

I cannot say this enough, yes we have to police ourselves but these new laws are not the way, first off they pass them when no one is looking and don’t give us a chance at rebuttal. There is no label on my exhaust they matches my bike label? In Newport RI there are signs letting you know to keep noise down in residential areas and word of mouth as well works pretty well most of the cops are cool not all---- there’s always one or two who would give there own brother a ticket.

I realize everyone has a life and is busy but we have to stay active on this or the do gooders will have your 2 yr olds wearing helmets in public while learning how to walk…..

I was stationed in Newport from '03-'06 and back then they had a sign when you came off the bridge that loud exhaust will be fined $500. Cant remember if it said for motorcycles or all vehicles.

I'll be stationed here for a year. Thinking about a full stage 1 with TAB 4.5s and medium baffles. Think ill have an issue on my Road King?

Well, in the 11 years since this thread started I wonder how the noise law has effected people in Rhode Island. Welcome to the forum and let us know how you make out.

I live in RI and never had a problem with riding through EG or any other town. The problem started when we had those few idiots that would rev their bike trying to sound “cool”, of course most of them had very loud after market pipes. East Greenwich has a very small Main Street area where there are many shops, small eating establishments and of course your higher end restaurants. Just slow down, the speed limit is 15 maybe 20 mph and don’t draw attention to yourself.

i haven’t heard of anyone getting a citation unless of course your an a$$ hole about the it. FYI the city of Newport has the same type of ordinance.

I haven't been there in almost 15 years! As previously said, as long as you not making all kinds of unnecessary noise I'm sure you'll be fine!
