First off, I currently wear a Daytona half helmet.
I have a 21" windshield for riding on the highway. The buffeting is okay and I can wear my transition wrap-around sunglasses without any problem. The top of the shield can be in my eye line while in certain riding positions, however. This works well for keeping the wind off my chest and face for extended highway periods.
I cut one of my old windshields down to 17". There is more buffeting and there is a micro-pulse that constantly vibrates my sunglasses, so I need to wear goggles. With the reduced shield height, I have much better vision but look like a dork in the goggles. This is great for getting the wind off my chest at city speeds.
I may end up cutting my 21 down to 19". Given that my Road King has the stock passing lamps, am I mistaken in thinking that lowers are not possible?
My obvious preference would to have a windshield setup that I could wear my transition sunglasses in both city and on the highway. In any case, does anyone have recommendations for googles? I have a pair of Bobsters but am really not impressed with their crappy lens-changing system. I am trying not to break the bank.
Does any have good glasses for someone with a big nose? My nose is wide in the bridge (broken a couple of times), as a result I can see under most glasses. Don't really want to go to goggles.
I have bobster II photochromatic glasses with a heavy foam insert for an airtight fit and they work great! I really like them and even for a big headed guy they are awesome!
try cutting down the first shield some more-you may be surprised. The taller the shield the less laminar air but the more buffetting. Least buffeting is no shield w/shoulder-high apes. Go for a ride with your shortest shiled then pop it off and go for a quick spin with the same glasses, wind, etc.

RockerMike, I live in Manassas and have a pair of WileyX that is too big for me. Came with 2 pairs of lenses and one pair is Rx. If you want to meet up someplace you can try them on. PM me if interested.
