Leather S-bag repair
Posting this in the Touring boards since I figure there should be ore saddlebag info than on the other boards. I picked up a crashed Dyna a few weeks back that I am rebuilding. The left saddlebag has some fairly light scratches from sliding on the pavement. Nothing too deep but still kinda ugly. Anyone have any suggestions on what I could use to lessen or eliminate them?

If you just want to cover em up hit your local boot shop for some black leather dye and some high gloss black polish. Worked great on my old leather bags when I took a hit from a rather large sharp rock at 80 mph. If they are deep you could also get a leather repair kit from an auto parts place. They sell the kit from permatex that comes with a material that you melt to the bags with a little iron that comes in the kit. I used this on the seat on my new EGC. It had a rip when I bought it and I wasn't in the position to spring for a new seat even with the deep discount from the dealer. They had already thrown in a set of highway pegs to get me to buy the bike and that was all the freebies I was going to get. The kit worked great though. Comes with black material and texture paper for the iron. Works slick, my buddy couldn't even find the rip.
