Default Street Glide with Touring Pull Back Bars

Hi All,

I bought the Harley Davidson touring pull back handle bars for my 07 FLHX - part number 55914-98. I know I'll need new mirrors, but I'm not sure what cables I'll need. I've called four different dealerships to ask what if any cables need replacing. I've received 4 different answers. I can't tell you how frustrating this is.

Can someone that has these bars installed on a 2007 or earlier FLHX tell me exactly what additional parts I need? I'd like to keep all the cabling going through the fairing to keep a clean look.

Please help! Thanks in advance!

Regards,
J.B.

I got this out of the new 2010 parts book. page #593. I would suspect you won't somthing different then standard black lines so this is the #s for the diamond back lines. It shows all batwing bikes but the street glide. I would think it would fit the street glide though.

clutch cable - 38922-09
throttle cables - 38778-05
brake lines- upper -44213-08
lower - 45820-07

Hopefully this works.

Thanks for that info. It's very helpful. I've read other posts where some of these items may not really be needed.

Anyone else out there that's gone this this modification in the past?

Thanks!
J.B.

I did it and the only cable I had to replace was the clutch cable. You can use the stock one if you route it outside of the fairing but I like it mostly hidden. I think it was +3.

I put touring bars on my '09 SG and still used the stock clutch cable and fairing mirrors.

I had to reroute the clutch cable but that was about it. Mirrors still give me plenty of rear visibility.

Also, they just give you 2" of pull back, no rise from what I can see and feel.
