How to install CVO Road Glide Mid-Frame Air Deflectors on standard FLTR
I have searched the forum and found many posts related to the previous generation of deflectors for '08's and earlier. HD PN# 58022-07A. I have read a lot of grumbling about installation of those older deflectors, problems with the adjustable rider backrests and even modifications guys have done to get them on their bikes.
I installed them on my '09 Street Glide with a Drivers Adjustable backrest with no problems (except for the dropping of bolts inside the frame - damn large hands and non nimble fingers). Install was a breeze. previous to 09 I don't think the two would work together.
BUT: If all you got was "four flat washers and two bolts" you don't even have the right mounting hardware......and the instructions that come with them is worthless as far as informational instruction goes.
If it would help I could scan and email or fax to you instructions for the 58022-7A kit. I just installed them on my 07 FLHTC.
Thanks for the offer. I actually found those instructions online as a PDF file. Unfortunately they are not the same as the 09 units. If someone has a link to the instructions for the 09 deflectors please let me know.
If one of the other guys that replied with an 09 could scan and email me their instructions I would be intersted in looking those over. I can PM you my email if you would be willing to do so.
Like I said...all I got was four flat washers and two bolts to mount 'em up. How much hardware is supposed to come with the kit?
