SERT or PC III
PCIII's again are fine for most as you don't need the range unless your race tuning. Besides, they are far easier to tune. But anyway you choose, I'd recommend a qualified tuner.
SERT is not a thing of the past. Far from it. EPA is clamping down but that just means they will be enforcing the "OFF ROAD" use only. Dealer will be getting fines for installing (not selling) SERTs because they can get caught easily. Ride in Ride out, DUH!
btw: 2 weeks ago I rode 2up with the wife to Bryce Canyon. Had pleanty of low and high end torque. Averaged 48 MPG and got a high of 55 MPG. I doubt the self tuners with their DFO's can get that kind of performance and mileage! But if they're happy then they also have a good alternative (at least for them).
I would ONLY recommend a SERT if you have a qualified and competent tuner!!!!!
I understand that the SERT might be a thing of the past with the EPA cracking down on the MoCo. That might explain why dealers are so eager to push the SERT's that they have in stock.
PowerCommander has a very large dealer network with trained dyno techs. Another thing about the PC, with their new dyno software, the tech can make changes on the fly to your bike, which results in less pulls and less time.
Not sure why zubaugh would not haver a PCIII, but for me it was the only way to go
