Down shifting problems

Agreed. It should downshift easily through all the gears while moving, without ever letting out the clutch. Get it fixed.
Now that I think about it, I may have heard of this problem. The shaft that goes through the inner primary to the linkage may be gummed up and not letting the shifter release after you downshift. Clean it up and lube it.

changing gears up or down at too low rpms is not good IMHO

Mine was due to gunk build up over time on the shifter shaft rod. Probably not what you are experiencing. I do remember reading that if your oil level was too low in your primary it could cause shifting problems.

I have always had to blip the throttle a little when downshifting especially when coming to a stop. By the way, After watching Roads Avatar I can't downshift AT ALL!!!!
