Just got the Rinehart 2-1. sounds sweet and looks amazing, great chrome and machine work. BUB did a great job manufacturing this pipe. Going Friday to run on dyno to see if there is any power dip in the torque curve like the fat cat's make. So far I'm super happy
I did a lot of research on 2 into 1 exhaust systems and it boiled down to whether you are looking for performance or looks (or a little of both). When you look at numbers RB Racing makes the best power, a lot of people don't like working with these guys as they can be a little independent. D & D "Fat Cat" is probably used more than any other for a combination of good power, looks and cost. All I can really give is my experience and that is I gained 8 HP and 10 ft.lbs. of Tq. when I changed from a Samson "Calibre" 2 into 1 to a RB Racing, I will also say that the Samson was far better than the HD Screamin Eagle duals that I startd with. I do have a good bit of engine work ie: Heads, JIMS cylinders, 10.5 CR, Cams, etc., etc.
Wait, before someone yell's use the search function, I have. I just want to know what the best exhaust for a stage 1 kit with future plans for ported heads and cams would be?
2QuietBob;
I can tell you that engine builders will say that a 2-into-1 is the best exhaust to get the most out of an engine build. I talked to two of the best head and machine companies in the country, and they both said the same thing. They also said that functionally, there's not much difference between the 2-into-1 systems currently offered by the best known exhaust outfits.
So, take your pick! They are going to vary slightly in fit, finish, style and sound.
I personally went with the Supertrapp Supermeg. It has a great, authoratative sound when you are in the gas, but seems to quiet down nicely when you're cruising. I couldn't believe how much more roll-on power the bike has with this pipe on there.
I am seriously looking into the Cobra 2-1 I really like the way it looks and the price ain't bad either. Anyone out there know anything about it?
put the cobra power pro 2 into 1 on my 07 heritage, been on for almost 30k and the chrome still looks like new and they sound great. my wife rides the heritage now it's her bike and riding next to her they sound really good. with the cobra's i also added pc111 and k&n filter and bike runs really good.

I did a fair amount of research before buying the Vance and Hines Pro Pipe 2 into 1. On a stock 96 inch I don't think there is a huge difference between all of them. I bought the v&h from Eastern Performance for 500.00 with free shipping. Great sound, good low end torque improvement and you can double the packing easily if you want them quiet. Price was a factor when I made the decision. I installed them in about an hour. Huge improvement in tune ability.
I am wondering the same question. I am looking for loud and performance. I am torn between v&h pro pipe, bassani RR, and fatcat. TH is just too ugly and RB Racing takes to long.
I had the D&D fatcat on my 08 Roadglide before getting t-boned by a cager making an illegal u-turn. I really liked the looks and performance of the D&D, but the sound was a little...................puffitsy......for lack of a better word.
After the accident insurance was replacing my exhaust and they did not care what I got as long as I paid the difference.
Anyway I went with the Bassani Road Rage, ceramic coated with chrome heatshields. Its looks great, sounds fantastic and bumped hp by 2 and torque by 4 over the D&D, with no additional tuning.
I will stay with the Road Rage, even if I get t-boned again.
