Default Road King Windshields?

A friend of mine just bought an '05 Road King this past weekend. He wants to replace the stock height windshield with a shorter dark smoke one. Is there an online source for just the replacement shields, and he could use his stock frame?

Thanks,

Steve

yes, you can get just the glass through HD or memphis shades. I am sure there are others, but I haven't found them. The only truly "smoked" one I have seen is the HD. Memphis shades has one called solar, but from what I have heard, they aren't tinted much

think you can get glass only from HD for around 119.00 check e-bay I bought 2 from there complete, expect to pay anywhere from 175-200, if you get one get the screaming eagle frame.

memphis shades can be found on eBay. i got a blue tinted one recently for about $100.
the tint really helps cut down on the reflection from the nacelle.

Got a Clearview blemish for RK a month ago. Took a week to receive. It's 17" and I have to put my hand on top of helmet to feel straight ahead air. The slight blemish was difficult to find. Before this windshied I used a 16" Harley, it was a good windshield, but I got tired on direct wind and rain in my face.

If he wants one of those real short ones tell him to just take the windshield off. I found that those short ones cause more turbulence than they prevent.
I only put my windshield on if I'm going to ride the interstate and then it's only marginally better than riding with out it.

Years ago, when I had my Road King.............I bought just the insert to replace the stock one. It cost me like $40 delivered, but I can't remember when I got it.

Theres a guy on ebay that sells them for around $85. Thats where I have gotten two and was very happy with them. The one thing you have to watch out for is you do not want a plexiglass as they will scratch very easy. You want one made of polycarbonate or lexan. Thats what came orignially on HDS.
