For sure lose the stock headers and go with a dual, or 2 into 1 system. For duals, Hard Krome (below), no clamps or slip-ons, fantastic performance, sound and looks. Favorite 2 into 1 would be, Bassani Road Rage. Your AFR looks lean compared to most!
For performance, the stock headers with free flowing mufflers are better than duals. A good 2 into 1 system is the best. If you want the look of duals with a very good 2 into 1, get the Thunderheader with falsie.
From what I've read and been told, 13.5 ATF is the number that will create the most HP out of a VTwin. Thus, when you look at various dyno charts, you will see a high ATF number in the lower RPM range 1500-3000, but that ATF number should level off from there to down in the 13's throughout the rest of the run. But on the other hand, if it aint popping, spitting and coughing, leave it alone, other than adding the Bassani's
Wait a minute, before I start getting questions....................
I have a couple of sites that I read up on tuning thru SCT for my truck. I just copied and pasted that info, thought it would be a good read and help members understand the a/f numbers better. But your right Topper, you want a different a/f number depending on throttle opening and rpm's. It's just easier to dial in a number accross the board and present a flat line on a dyno graph. But most of the a/f samplers on dyno's are dirty and haven't been cleaned/changed in a while, so really I don't put to much faith in dyno a/f numbers. I'd rather depend on a stand alone wide band to gather the info. I was told that the perfect a/f to look for was 13.2, so who knows
I had a shop install true dual and re calibrate my sert. They dyno tuned it and told me the a/f ration should be around 13 ; 1 It runs fine but the mileage went from 42 to 34. I dont really care about the mileage I just don't want to stop for gas in 120 miles. Does this guy know what he is doing? I went with an independant shop because the dealer tuned the sert and it popped like crazy.
