Another option is next time you get a tire change have a 45 degree valve stem installed. You can get them right from Drag Specialties and they make it easier to check.
In the OP's sig pic, it looks like he's running the laced wheels. Please explain how you put a 45 degree vavle stem in a tube. I'd like to have this option on my RK.

We all suffer from that oversight. Contrary to what the MOCO would like us to believe, evidently their engineers who design their motorcycles, never actually ride them or attempt basic maintenance with tools that the average person has on hand. Or, it could be that they figure that anytime we have a low tire we will pull into the nearest Harley shop and drop another $HD to have our tires filled up. Of course that would be at a minumum 1 hour of labor. When will we learn?
I am laughing now, but I know it is true.

Didn't pay attention to the wheels. This option was for if he had cast wheels, sorry for the confusion. I believe that you may be able to find a tube with angled valve stems though. I believe it would state PV78 for an angled stem or something like that, like the ones shown HERE

+1 on that. Best thing I ever did when I had new tires put on the bike.

I glad to see I'm not the lonely one frustrated with the whole air\tire hassle.
Great topic and suggestions too!

You're right it is a pain-in-the-butt. That's probably why when I picked up my new Ultra it had 24# in the front and 28# in the back.
