Question Saddlebag Spring Replacement "How Hard Could It Be"

I picked up a couple of repalcment springs for my saddlebags from the dearship (thinking piece of cake, I can do it). The rod that runs through the spring is tack welded onto the end of the hinge, so now looking for advice from some of you who've done it.

The hinge is tack welded not the rod. The other end is pinched to keep the rod from falling out. Use a scewdriver to spread the othe end a bit and you can then move the rod by grabbing in the middle where the spring is and pushing it out the end you opened up.

You are welcome. That is what these places are for.

I can actually replace them with the latches still on the bike but don't try it, you can scratch your bags!

Did you get instructions with the replacement kit? They are posted on here on the forum if you search.
