I want to replace the speedo with a speedo/tach. I'm looking at the three options and I like the spun aluminum one the best but the other two look nice also. I read on here from a post in 2008 that you lose the clock function with the spun aluminum one but could find no posts regarding a 2009 model. I'd be interested in hearing from folks that have installed any of the three options on their 2009 Road King to see if they still have all the functions and lights of the original unit. Thanks.
I have one 74745-08 Speedo/tach on my 09' RKC. No problems yet in 4000 miles.
Thank you and per your PM the clock works just as original on this version. This version is actually my second choice, I'd still really like to hear from someone that has installed the spun aluminum version on their 2009 RK to see if the clock still works.
I actually bought mine from a place off of eBay. It's the third Mustang I've bought from them, two solos and a Regal for my Ultra. Their prices are great and their shipping is fast plus I can pay them using Paypal. I don't work for them, blah blah blah, I've just had good luck with them. They don't seem to have any of this seat currently on eBay but they carry all Mustang seats are are super friendly. Here's their web address.
Yes, the spun looks nicer but I am trying to keep as nostalgic as i can.
I understand completely I want that also. From the picture I and my wife thought the spun one looked pretty cool. Do you think the one you chose maintains the nostalgic look you are going for? I've never seen one in person so it's hard to determine from the pictures. The one they call Nostalgic is my least favorite but again, never seen one in person. How do you like the color functions? Did you choose a green color for yours or some other color? Sorry for all the questions, but I only want to spend this 400+ dollars one time and want to get exactly the right thing for my money. Thanks.
I have the spun aluminum Speedo/tach. It looks frickin awesome and has all the same functions as the factory unit. My only gripe is that it is hard to read the lights in the daylight and is like a mirror when direct sunlight hits it and reflects it back in your face. Doesnt happen very often but when it does you will feel it. Still I love mine and would not go back to the original... Not to mention that it was a $500.00 upgrade. I do wish that the tach was on top and not the other way around, I find that in order to see the tach I am taking my eyes off the road when I should be looking forward. Hope this helps it is a very nice looking upgrade... enjoy. I ride a 2009 Road King Classic.

VERY VERY COOL!!! I thought it was wierd when I read that the clock wouldn't work anymore. The glare might be a PITA but not a big enough one to stop me from doing the upgrade. As far as looking down while riding goes, as long as I can still send a text message while checking the RPMs I'm good. Thanks for the great news!
