Could the cable be stretching? It's got about 5300 miles on it.

Were your bars turned a different direction each time you checked it? In some cases your cable will be in a bit of a bind depending on how your bars are turned, and that can affect the play.

Thanks cuda, I'll adjust it with the wheel straight. I was going down the road today when I pulled on it so it was straight.
