are you a wus don't know you well enough to answer that question. If you feel more comfortable waiting it out and do I would certainly not call or consider you a wus.
Looks like we might head out this afternoon. We have 7 bikes with three opposite genders riding their own that want to completely avoid the rain. No problem, not like we have to be anywhere at anytime. It's just a four day ride.
Now we have to decide do we go to Northern Michigan or head towards OH, IN or IL? The weather looks to be about the same except it will be about 5 to 10 degrees warmer to the south. We really like the the ride to Leelanau Pennisula and around to the Tunnel of Trees.
Anyone got any ideas on South Central IN, IL or OH?
My rule of thumb is if it is wet when i open the garage door i drive the cage if it is not wet i ride. I dont mind getting caught in the rain, I just dont like starting out in it. Like this morning i left for work 30 min early because of rain and only got a little wet on the way.
You are not a WUSS....it is up to you how comfortable you are.....DOnt worry just ride and have fun, if it is wet slow down...if it is hail then pull in someplace and enjoy breakfast/lunch/dinner/coffee....
Go south Basz!
I'm only saying that because I am - Indiana - leaving tomorrow after work. It actually gets pretty when you get into the valleys.
Another option - West Virginia.
Looks like once this storm system goes through, it'll be pretty nice around the whole region - cooler temps too. Can't go wrong, and perfect for riding.
I'm in Illinois (around Peoria), the storm wasn't as bad as it looks on radar.
As far as riding follow the IL river.
Lots of travelers check out Starved Rock State park. Always lots of bikes in Utica, several places to eat, gift shops and a couple leather stores. JC Whitney's warehouse is just outside of town.
Get out there and ride in the rain, and use it all up. I head out to the U.P. for a ride Saturday morning and I don't want any of it up there when I arrive.
