I have used the J&M Headsets on the Goldwings in the past. When I purchased my 06 Ultra a couple of years ago, it came with the Harley headsets. It was OK, I t hought. When the mike went out a couple of weeks ago, I called Sierra Electronics and ordered a couple of J&M Headsets. The salesman and I discussed the difference in the $169 and the $229 units. I decided on the $169 unit (BCD 279 OF-HO). Only after pluging in the J&M and listening to the XM Radio did I realize how bad the junk HD headsets were.
The J&M was at least double the volume and I cannot tell you the difference in the sound quality. Thanks John

My brother and I swapped bikes one day while riding. I plugged my J&M head set into his outlet and It like to have blowed my brains out! That was the difference in where he had his volume set for the standard HD headset and where I had mine set. He had to bump my volume up to hear. Then when I got back on my back, "yep" I blowed my brains out again. There is a differnce.
I have the set with the H/O mike. I think that both the Harley and J&M headsets sound like crap listening to music, but the CB sounds better with the J&M. Which works out because I think the CB sounds like crap thru the bike speakers and the music sounds fine.
I have a J&M and IMC headsets... I also run a J&M cb unit on my EG classic...Very satisfied with J&M....sounds great. I have heard the HD set sound so-so...
