The pictures on Page 9 have been around for a while, and the family of the kid who died at the scene wishes these pictures would stop being posted. He died in that crash and it has been much talked about. Enough said on that topic.

I'm not an EMT but it was pretty obvious that he was dead and these were fatality accident scene photos. I guess the "he lived" caption was put there by some pro helmet group. I came up on an automobile accident last year right after it happened. Guy in driver seat was not breathing, not moving, not bleeding, and the whole back side of his head was bashed in. Don't take long to figure he's dead and move over to try to help someone still living. While we were trying to get to the passenger, i heard someone looking at the driver say, "we don't need to move him he might have a neck injury." Holy crap, i think 90% of the people in america have lost all thier common sense.
who cares? wear what you prefer. my helmet is on when riding. if someone thinks it's dorky, then it's their problem. as they scoot on by riding their hyabusa wearing only a do rag and sandals. but they be lookin cool.
Speaking as a person t-boned and sent to the local emergency room, FF save my life. Still I find them too hot for summer and gamble I won't get hit again. As soon as the weather cools down, the FF is back on. I wear ballistics with armor also, Harley is slowly converting, pain sucks and should be avoided where possible. Been down twice with more than 300k riden, it happens so fast you don't even get time to react.
I have to agree with you guys!!!! I'm just saying what was included with the pics.
There would be more action around him if he still had a pulse.
Plus, just the way he was hanging there would have snapped his neck, let alone the initial impact and then getting drug by your head. Helmet or not, that dude was toast.
I have a Scorpion full face with the star wars blast shield and a HJC half for short cruises and nice days. I still like the full face. You just never know when the accident happens. You could get a Shark helmet so you have open and full face.
When touring, I carry both a Nolan half helmet and a HJC Symax. In the rain, I put in disposable contact lens and wear the Symax. Spending hours in the rain at Interstate speeds is a lot easier if you can see the road. When it's dry, I wear the Nolan with prescription sunglasses.
A couple of years ago I was stuck having to cross the Mohave on an August afternoon. The temperature in Needles, CA was 110 when we started across. I wore the Symax and a silver mesh jacket. The guy with me wore a tank top and a do-rag. Half way through, he started to show signs of confusion and we had to pull over and douse him with water. I think the full face helmet did a lot for me in reducing the effect of the blistering heat.
But, then again, I rarely wash my bike, much less polish it and really don't give a rat's *** what people think -- I'm way too old to impress anyone.
