My brother and I are thinking about taking one of the trips provided by Eagle Rider Motorcycle Rentals. It's the trip from Miami through the keys, everglades, Orlando, etc. It looks pretty interesting and decently priced including an Electraglide rental, hotels etc. Have any of you taken a trip with these folks? Have any of you taken this specific trip? What did you think? Was it worth the $$$? Thanks.
I rented from them in February of last year. I had no problems at all. I think you will be fine too.
We drove down to key west, stopping at each of the main keys. I believe the new overpass in key largo is open. When we were there it was under construction, so you had to use the drawbridge...no big deal. Make sure you see the sun set in Mallory Square in Key west...awesome.
We were only there for 2 days so did not get to see alot, but what we did get to see was enjoyable. We stayed at the Duval Inn on Angela Street. A little pricey, but neat.
I drove a car down that route to Key West and that was nice. I'm going to have to look into taking this trip down with a bike, thanks for the post.
I did not rent from Eagle or do their tour. I did rent using the fly and ride program. Peterson's in Miami is the dealer they use. The price using HOG is great. The ride is easy, really don't need a guide. Its a straight shot. Alligator alley, they same.... If interested, I can send you the plan we used. Send me a PM with your email address. I also recommend you contact the Florida crew and search on Key West.

Once you get south of Miami...the prices are ALL jacked up ! My buddy booked us some rooms in Key Largo.....SKANKY is the best way to describe them. You had to knock on the bathroom door and ask the roaches if you could come pee.... We went in the Off season ( summer, lobster season) stayed at a nice B & B right on Duval in Key West....don't recall the name at present... very secure... within crawling distance of Irish Kevin's...for that matter...it was crawling distance from all of them!! The entrance looked like an alley, very well disguised. Cuz I might have gotten a little Duval Faced down on $hit street.
Thanks for the responses. I really want to do this trip or one like it, I've never even been to Florida, let alone the Keys. If our initial plan holds, it'll happen after hurrican season in 2010, December or January, 2011 or REAL EARLY spring, 2011.
