Default The Forever Final Stabilizer Thread

Before you flame me, yes like many of you I have read dozens of threads on these. I think there are many of us that still haven't purchased one so I hope we can get current feedback in a more current thread since many of you have had time to give these things a good test.

Until recently I didn't think I had the need for a stabilizer but after 32,000 miles my bike doesn't feel as stable as it used to though I have not experienced a tank slapper. Also, I road a 2009 EG for a few hours recently and I could feel an improvement in it's stability in curves & turns ... thus my post here.

I'd like to hear from you guys WHICH stabilizer you purchased and IF you really did notice a significant improvement in the daily handling of your bike ... not just in sweepers at 80 mph. I've read where some folks say they can't really tell much difference and some say it rides like it's on rails now. So I am trying to current info for us pre 2009 owners. Thanks all.

I put the TWR Missing Link on my '08 Ultra and it made quite a bit of difference on the highway at speed as well as in the sweepers. I really couldn't tell much difference in low speed manuevers but the bike definitely felt more stable overall. I now have an '09 Ultra and my '08 with the TWR Missing Link handled as well as it does IMHO.

You need a seperate item listing the True Track. Lots of biker on this forum have those.

Talking Did someone mention STABILIZER?!?!?!

Side shot of the brace in place!

Nothing but the best for my steed!

Now let me go wax the bottom of my motor, I think I see some dust!

Don't know how you could let those exhaust clamps get like that.

Anyway, back to the topic, do ya think the swingarm bushings could be that worn in 32, 000 miles that would cause it to feel less stable than it used to?

Gee wiz; the bottom of your bike is cleaner than my paint.

There are many out there that will work. Not sure if any is better than others. I went with the missing link mainly because I can add a center stand.

I could tell a difference. Slightly improvement at low speeds (below 5 mph), twisties big difference for me ( I live on a mountain), just cruising the bike feels more stable.
I also got a good price
Was it worth it, yes
It handles as good as my friends 09 SE Ultra

I'd venture to say they all work about the same. If it were not so you'd have a WHOLE lot more threads complaining about what the brace DIDN'T DO for improvement versus the bazillion of threads inquiring about them.

The choice is more than likely related to the cost factor and center stand clearance issues for some.

I'll vouch for the Bagger Brace on the merits of ease of application, stabilization of bike, and I'm able to use my MC jack without interference...........not to mention it's relatively incognito appearance due to the black anodizing and a very well constructed piece and lastly, Ron Score at Phoenix Customs was extremely personable to deal with.

DISCLAIMER: YMMV

I went with the Bagger Brace it really made a difference on the bike. I had other problems affecting the handling that have since been sorted out. I have since ridden the bike with and with out the bagger brace connected. It does ride a lot better when it is connected. Also the fit and finish is second to none.
