J&M Speakers
the answer to you question is 'Maybe" ,,,, and I am not being sarcastic ,,,,,
all air movement or sound is disrupted on the way to our ears, some for the better, some for the worse ,,,,,,
when a speaker cone moves, either direction, air movement takes place in both directions from both sides of the speaker cone ,,,,
the air from the front of the J&M 7" cone that is forced thru the smaller adapter hole may actually gain velocity ,,,, and the air from the back of the cone moves around inside the fairing to create some booming bass, similar to one of those RAP trucks that pull up along side you at an intersection and you can feel the bass banging around the pavement ,,,,
that is why we include inside-faring foam pads, to tighten up the booming bass a little and improve the sound quality to our ears ,,,,,,
all sound is subjective, and very much like wine ,,,, you can tell a good wine from a bad wine, because a good wine tastes good ,,,,,

Actually it was me that asked that question last week but thanks for answering anyway.
But something else has me a little worried. You say these speakers put out alot of bass. Obviously with that comes vibration. Our bikes vibrate enough as it is and this is adding more. Isn't there more of a risk of brackets breaking or other things vibrating lose??? I know you send the dynamat or whatever sound deadening material you use. But are the mounting points isolated with any kind of rubber to maybe absorb some of the mounting point vibrations??? If not wouldn't that be a good idea???
I am not sure I followed the answer. I realize sound gets disrupted especially on a bike, but not sure about the wind tunnel. Or the fact that your cutting off the outer inch or two of cone with a smaller speaker mounting hole. Interested in hearing someone's response that has heard them. Is an amp required to run them?
Not knocking them, just curious before spending over 250 dollars.
