My neutral light works when it wants to. I took my bike in (5/23), since it's under warranty. I dropped it off close to closing and told them I would pick it up tomorrow. No one called me until 5:00 on 5/24. They needed more time. Since it was raining hard all week and I couldn’t ride, I didn’t call them. Finally after days of waiting I called and they told me they had to order the neutral switch from the MOCO and it will be in 5/30. I went and got my bike on 6/2 and the switch still wasn’t in. They told me they would call when it comes in and I could bring my bike back. I haven’t heard from them yet.
Is the MOCO really taking this long or is the stealer pulling my leg?
That depends on the dealer. Some stock the parts, but some won't. I can't imagine them taking that long to order a part. Have you tried calling another dealer in town and see if they have that part in stock?

No I didn't check with another dealer because the light is now working and has been working since I picked the bike up.
A couple months ago I read an article on a recall from the MOCO on one of the models due to a potential false nuetral situation. Not sure which one it was, but it wasn't an RK so I didn't pay too much attention. You may want to ask your dealer about it.
My neutral light used to be erratic...untill I adjusted it. You can turn it slightly one way or another to get it to better line up and come on when it's supposed to. It is just a steel ball with a spring that fitts into detent when in neutral. When in neutral it completes circuit to ground and makes light come on. There is not much to fail on them.
My wife has an 06 Dyna Low. We went through the whole recall thing and they replaced the neutral switch with the recall. So we're in Daytona this year she hits 4th gear and the light comes on.... She pulls over freaking out... :-) We called the dealer and they said they get goofy switches once in a while. The original switch worked fine but the "new" one was f'd... They replaced it and it's fine now.
