I may not ride again for a few weeks and I am not on any medication. What's the big deal? There is nothing that I can't give up for a few weeks. Breathing being the one exception that I can think of. Water also, I guess.
you are unlikely to die of exanguation (I love using that word!).
I am pretty sure you meant exsanguination
my 2 cents: your body may need time to adjust to the initial dose/combo of meds. After the "happy medium" is reached, then make your choice to follow the doctor's orders to NOT ride.
P.S. On the flip side, he will be held liable/negligent if he DID not advise you to NOT ride while on Coumadin (he most certainly does not want a malpractice lawsuit from you)
I take coumadin have for over a year I carry new skin liquid bandage for small pesky cuts and keep my blood checked around 2.2 if i start bruising easy I don't ride until it's back down maybe a few days at most the rest I leave in the hands of my maker who will take you when its time no matter where you are until then I ride , I love , and live life to the fullest because time maybe now
Doc shouldn't be telling you what to do do/not do. Doc should tell you the risks, you decide what to do. You could get killed any number of ways, Coumadin or no. Know the risk, choose your path.
I told another doctor that I rode a motorcycle. His response was, "Good, we need more organ donors."
I had a heart attack at 43 yo . I am on plavix and aspirin dailey. I bleed like a stuck pig even with the slightest shaving knick.
SCREW IT LET'S RIDE! Is my motto. The Lord will take me when He say's it's my time.
Do what you feel is right.
I have asked for and received some great advice on motorcycle repair and maintenance from this forum.
I would assume more people here are qualified for that work vs medical opinions.
Do what you think is right. The fact that you ask, shows you believe the Doctor somewhat.
I was wondering how long it would take to get a response like this! So are you telling me that I should only ask questions or discuss repairs and maintenance of my bike? Are you the one that decides what we talk about on this forum?
I am taking Coumadin and I ride. I have been on coumadin for a few years and looks like I will be on it for life. I’m not going to let it stop me from riding.
