Default $2500 to spend on engine

If you had $2500 to spend on a 2005 Road King engine that only had 7,000 miles on it, what would you buy? It already has Vance and Hines Big Shot true duals and a thundermax. Heads, cam, big bore kit. I need help, my mechanic is trying to convine me to do a S&S 106 kit, but it is gonna cost me almost $5,000. It is an awsome set up, but more than I am willing to spend. Hellllllllllllllllllllllllllllpppppppppppppppppppp pppp.

What type of cam do you have? Chain Drive or Gear Drive? The whole tentioner issue is the only real problem with that motor.

Other than that maybe a aftermarket oil pump?

We knew these bikes were underpowered when we bought them. Obviously we purchased same for other reasons.

stock is ok if uninpiring. Hang in there and actually spend you money on something that has a longer lasting value.

If you wanted speed and power on the cheap you would have bought an M109R or even a VTX 1800. Let it pass

To each his own.

What do you have now?
Heads?
Cams?
Big bore kit?
Displacement?
Probably do a cam gear drive and work the crank-get it balanced. Do a timken upgrade also.

If you have a manual for your bike and a few tools. You can have a reputable shop do a 103/107 for you and put it back together yourself.
Maybe even have $$ left for your tune.
