I can do it in about 3 to 3.5 hours in my garage, so a "certified" HD tech should be able to do it in less then that.

I just had the chrome front end done yesterday by the dealer and they charged me 5 hours. They just look in the HD book and charge whatever it lists. If it takes them 3, they still charge 5. I can tell you the bike looks amazing with the chrome front end, you will love it.

On my 01 EGC (since totalled), I pulled the legs and bought the chrome lowers on the Net from Chicago HD. Took the legs and the chrome lowers (still in the HD box but I ripped off the Chicago info. My dealer charged me $75 to change the lowers. Brought them home, installed, added chrome bells, added fork oil and closed it up.

Ditto. Did the same with my '04 (has the pita cartridge in the left fork). It's an easy (with 35mm or 1 3/8" shallow socket/wrench for the fork cap bolts) DIY and I was happy to pay someone else to swap the parts and do only the removal/install myself.

5 hours the first time, 2 second time, do a search, there are some good threads on here about this install. Also read about which oil to put back in the forks. I tried the extra heavy and did not like it. You will be suprised how dirty the oil is, no need to replace the seals if you take care removing and installing them.
