I know this has been beat to death here, but one more question. I took my 08 SG (built in july of 07) to the dealer yesterday. I asked them to activate my HMS. After about 2 hours of hanging around they brought it out. I tried to active with throttle, didn't do anything so went back in and asked. Said it needs to be running, went back and tried again, still didn't work. Went back in........ Mechanic said that the throttle option doesn't work on pre dec 08 bikes, that it is either activated or deactivated by the dealer. I didn't take the service bulletin in with me, but the way I read it, it should work the same as any 08 bike.
Before I go in and raise hell I would like to know for sure. Has anyone had this done to their pre Dec built bike? Can you turn it off and on with the throttle? Thanks in advance!

 

Is THIS the same bulletin you were reading from? If so, all of the conditions that are stated must be met for at least 6 seconds in order for EITMS to activate

 

Mine is pre-dec and I can activate or deactivate at the throttle. I believ the dealer will initiate the ability or remove the ability once for each customer. (This is so that there is no control by the customer.)

 

yeah that's the one, as i read it, it says I would turn it off and on with the throttle after the download. Thanks I will take this into the dealer and show them their bulletin! I think 80% of the people on the forum know more then most of the dealers service writers!!!
