Newbie's Ride !
Several weeks ago I asked for, and recieved comments from many of you on the type of bike that would best fit my riding style.
Back then, I outlined my plans to save some more $$ and buy a bike this fall. Well, sometimes the best laid plans change when the phone rings.
I recieved a call from a guy up the road, who heard in a round-about way that I was looking for a RK. He had just made the decision to sell his 02' Road King Classic and he was wondering if I wanted to drive up and take a look at it? When I saw it, my first reaction was that it was a good looking bike. My wife's reaction was that she thought it was even 'cooler' than others I had looked at.
It didn't take much arm twisting on her part to write the check.[IMG][/IMG] What a bike!,...what a wife!!

Thanks for the great comments guys. The bike has more chrome accessories than I would have ever thought of buying (mini beach bars (comfortable)!, lamp visors all around, highway pegs, nostalgic foot boards & shift, 'trucker girl' shift linkage, color matching fringe, SE and fishtails, nostalgic fender light, turn signal indicator (neat!), touring seat, luggage rack + license plate frame, blue-dot tail light, ...and he gave me all the original equipment!). Did I mention he threw in a 3-bike trailer in the deal?
I haven't researched this point but I believe the 02 model came with blue/silver scheme. The original owner re-shot the tank the Luxury blue/white on the picture.

Howdy Newbie, I know how you feel about making plans to do something then something comes along that changes them. I'd say that you did yourself a good turn when you decided to change your plans and get the RK. Sounds like you are lucky to have a wife like you do. Enjoy them both.

Awesome bike. You probably won't realize how much money you saved with all those add ons already on the bike until you get your own brand new one.
A new bike is like a newly built house...it's $5K just to walk in the door by the time you buy blinds, fans, and other crap. Buy it used, you get all kinds of goodies thrown in that you never really thought out about.
