Hey all I just got back from my first ever time at a drag strip and I had to share. The big girl ran 12.253 @108.8 on the best run. That run I had the best launch, but the e throttle played up going into third (it lags sometimes when you snap it open) and i short shifted into 5th before the line, when i should have just run her into the limiter in 4th like the previous runs. Other runs were 12.326 @110.8 and 12.674 @ 109.99.
It was so much fun, there were about 70 cars and 30 bikes, all jappers of course. There were guys on street busas doing everything from 12.4 to 9.9, and there was a brand new GSXR 1000 that was ran 10.2 when he jagged the perfect launch. My first run I lost to an R6, he ran 11.6 and I ran 12.6 which I was pretty proud of for my first run ever. There was a guy on a trail bike running 13s on the back wheel till 3/4 track. A lot of people were impressed with the king, got lotsa comments from the rice riders.
The king and I tipped the scales at 1050lb at scruitineering, screen on, bags on and a full tank of 98 ron.
I encourage anyone to go and have a run on the strip, its quite a rush.
Nice run, and I assume you had your windshield removed.
BTW, all Road Kings are male bikes, as I've never run across a female king. I'm still trying to determine the sex of my SG, though.

All runs were screen on, bags on, tools in the bags, etc etc. Just like I run on the street - I rode from work straight to the strip. I could of stripped her down but I wanted to know how she runs everyday.
Motorcycles are traditionally female to me because when they are good they are very very good, and when they give you trouble you cant remember why you bother with the f*&^ things in the first place.
