So, the day before mothers day I dropped into the local HD shop for a pair of gloves and a hot-dog. They were having a giant tent "sale", as I was walking by the long line of bikes all shined up with a salesman on every seat I see a sign that says "1000.00 under MSRP". This sign is on this beautiful Deeep Cobalt/Silver Ultra Classic. The salesman pounces (he smelled blood in the water), he promptly explains to me that MSRP on the bike is 26k, I says to him that I think MSRP on a two tone 06 is actually 19,685; the fun began.
I have him bring out the sales manager, who knows me and we settle on 18,685 with no trade-in and to the shegrin of everyone, I buy this beauty and ride her home. The best damn mothers day gift I ever got my wife. We had been discussing this purchase for awhile, and were planning on traveling back east at some point maybe next year too try and find a deal on one.
Just had the 1k service done, and I have to say this thing rides llike a dream. I never thought I would love a bagger as much as I do, but man she is perfect. Well, almost perfect. so far I have installed a pair of SE slipons, extended floorboards, fairing mount mirrors and I will be doing a stage 1, and PC III soon. I am also going to install a GPS this weekend as well as a better seat as soon as I find the right one. What does HD stand for again?
So get ready for all of the questions I am sure to soon have.
I like the picture with the "Sold" sign on the bike. Reminds me of the feeling I had the day I went it to pick mine up. First time I had seen it and to know the "Sold" was for me, that was pretty cool. Congrats on the new ride.
