Default 407F Cupping

I would like to know how many of you have had cupping with your 407F/408?

"Check your tire pressure weekly" my mechanic told me and I would have no problems with the new Dunlops.
I thought that was an odd statement to make at the time.

I think twodollarbill hit the nail on the head. Cupping is almost always caused by low tire pressure.

These guys are obviously oblivious to the cupping problems that are inherent with the D407F's. If it was simply a matter of maintaining the proper air pressure, the MoCo wouldn't have abruptly change tire design mid-year in production, nor would they be handing out new D408F tires for fee like they are.

I for one had the cupping problem with my D407F, and was replaced under warranty with a new D408F at 7,000 miles.

I'm **** about ensuring my tires are aired up properly. 7K on the tires and the cupping has begun. Not bad yet but noticable if you look for it. No handling issues.

2300 miles on my 407 with cupping - MOCO replaced with 408 under warranty.

Just to be clear, the MOCO is now authorizing replacements? Last I heard the dealerships were left holding the bag.

6000 miles on my 407s. both were shot, badly cupped. the front was worse than the back but they were both illegal. I checked the pressures every 3 weeks or so, there was never any decrease between checks. They were only 7 months old anyhow.

I seem to remember the MOCO claiming 20% more tire life for the 09s, I think the website said so too. What a joke. Dealer laughed when I asked for a replacement free. To add insult to injury the 408 isnt available in Australia yet, so I had to buy 407s.

I got 8300 out of my 407F. (FLHTC) Local dealer gave me 20% off the 408 replacement. The rear tire looks like normal wear at this time. I check my pressures weekly.
