I pull a trailer thousands of miles every year and have been for many years. Dont know how to get along without sleeping bags, tents, coolers and the added convenience of having most everything I may need on a long trip. I am sure there are many ways to pack light, get along without some of the necessities but if you plan, and drive appropriately, pulling a trailer is not hard and makes the trip, especially those long trips much more enjoyable IMHO!

I have been pulling a home made "pop up" camper for almost 4 years. Like all have said, takes alittle getting used to and always remember the trailer is behind you when you brake, and go on upgrades you will have to down shift more then ususal.

If your looking for a cargo trailer and only plan a trip or 2 a year, consider the "piggybacker" they sell on Ebay and come as an easy to build kit. If you plan on multiple trips there are many out there for around 2K or so.

If you are looking at campers, I would definatly give the "bunkhouse" by www.bfspecialties.com a look. Great product. I would also consider another company called rollahome. (That will be my next camper)

As for the hitch there are a number of great hitches, but for me I really love my www.mchitch.com receiver style hitch. They also offer a plug and play set up for harleys electrical plugs. I believe they offer a 4, 5 and 6 pin set up depending on the trailer you decide on.

Good luck, as trailering makes for a much cheaper vacation (camping) and the wife enjoys being off the ground much more.

Mine's homemade from a harbor freight frame, a thin sheet of scrap aluminum diamond plate for a bed, and a yard sale cartop luggage carrier. I used some Krylon for plastic and it doesn't look quite as Beverly Hillbillies as it sounds, and I've got less than $300 in it. And I didn't build it for looks, anyway, just to get me to some weekend rallies. It tracks just fine at 80 MPH all day long. The only time you'll know you have a trailer behind you is if you pull into a spot you have to back out of, or if you stop at a stop sign on a hill.

I pull my homemade coffin trailer with my electra glide standard, usually when i pull my trailer the wife is with me and we just go into putt putt mode.60 mph tops we really do enjoy ourselves at this speed,if you are going to put a hitch on your scoot i strongly reccommend the hitch doctor a very high quality product and a very clean look and it is reciever style so you can loose the ball when your not trailering.

At least that is what a professional accident investigator tells me; if you want to believe otherwise go for it.
I doubt that the Uni-Go would start swinging from side to side due to the universal joint hitch it uses. I think it would just roll along on the rim.

Trailmaster ran a winter sale the last couple years, I ordered mine in November and picked it up in may. Give 'em a call, they may be doing the same thing: http://www.trailmasterinc.com/

Same here... Called my agent and he said he "needed to check it out first", I thought Oh S*** but turns out he was looking for something just like it.

I pulled this one for over 3,000mi to the Blue Ridge Parkway, and all through the mountains up there and back home again,2-up and loaded down full. I had no problem at all. The bike did a great job and it is stock except the pipes.
