Had my first service done yesterday, the Tech calls me back says bike is running way lean and plugs are white! Suggests I get a fuel pak or power commander!! I know the PC is about $100.00 higher! Since I'm pretty much retarded in this area!!!!! What is one gonna do the other is not!!? Thanks
The fuelpak is less complicated but the pc properly tuned gives better results, the key is properly tuned. For me I've used the fuelpak and for a simple stage 1 it worked well for me.
If I am correct the PC is a tuner and your can fine tune the bike. The fuelpac will basicly only adjust the amount of fuel with limited to no tuning.
I am looking at getting the PCV myself from fuel moto.
Put a fuelpak on my 09 Ultra with stock pipes and my fuel mileage increased?? by 2-4 mpg. Tells me its running leaner so I took it off. Still on the fence on what to do or leave it stock.
If you can get the right set-up for the Fuelpak from V&H it will run great. If they don't have your set-up or the map isn't correct it will run like crap and it will be a never ending process trying to get it right. You can't adjust anything. They have to tell you what to adjust and even then you don't know what the changes are and what they are doing. I had it on one bike and it ran like a raped ape. Had it on another and it was a slug and could never get it right.
Do yourself a favor and get a PC-V from Jamie at Fuel Moto. It will be mapped right out of the box and you will have a fine running machine and not have to worry about a thing.
Dealer says it would take a hour to install either?? A>K>A $68.00 ! Is the power commander pretty much a plug and play deal or is it better to let a tech do it???
