PCV offers a lot more flexibility for future upgrades. If you are telling yourself you won't do anything else to your bike, keep reading this forum. One thing always leads to another, and another, etc.
Dealer says it would take a hour to install either?? A>K>A $68.00 ! Is the power commander pretty much a plug and play deal or is it better to let a tech do it???
If you can take off your seat and side cover and have a laptop or the ability to get a PC close enough to the bike do it yourself...If you by it from Fuelmoto and you have any questions they will help you out.
I did the PCIII, slipons and the throttle setup on my 07 in a little over an hour.
I have an 07 Ultra.
When I did the stage 1 I used the fuelpak. Ran good with decent fuel mileage-40-42. Very simple install.
After a year and half or so I changed cams. Although they did not have a map for my set up, they gave me 1 for me to try. Worked good except my mileage dropped to 38-41. I figured it was caused of the cam change. A few weeks ago I decided to try the pcv with auto tune.
The pcv took about 30 min. to do. Rode the bike for a couple of days to make sure everything was in order. Fuel mileage went up about 4 mpg to-43-46
Better throttle response, mpg, cooler running, smoother running and easier starting.
Added the auto tune. The auto tune is great but is not as easy to install. You have to change the 02 sensors.
I will say this If I had known how good the pcv was by itself I would not have installed the auto tune. you can make adjustments with a lap top to do anything you would like to do and it is simple.
One of thefirst mods to the bike i did. I bougt the k&N filter, Rush slip ons and called Jamie at Fuel Moto. Told him what i had he sent the PCIII I installed it and the other parts and haven't looked back. This forum is one of the best forums you will ever find, yea they don't agree on pipe sounds or tire brands but it seems they all respect each others choices and are extremely helpful with any question you ask.The PCIII is an extremely easy install and the more I read on here and try with my bike the more confidence I get.

Do yourself a favor and get a PC-V from Jamie at Fuel Moto. It will be mapped right out of the box and you will have a fine running machine and not have to worry about a thing.
+1 The PC-V is the way to go plus you can add the auto tune module in the future if you want. I just put the PC-V on my '07 Ultra and WOW did it make a big difference in smoothness, runs cooler and pulls hard all the way thru the throttle band.
You wont be dissappointed in the Fuel Moto setup plus you get all the great customer support. I've actually got a PCV from Fuel Moto with SE air filter with chrome back for sale for 375.00. I'm selling my 08 Ultra. Both are about a month old.
I have a basic stage 1 with SE intake and V&H slip ons. I use the fuel pak and have good results. I believe the good results are because I have a basic set up and V&H pipes with a V&H tuner. If was to do anything else to the bike (cam, different pipes) I would go with the power commander

+1 ... I am doing the same thing... I will change out to the PCV if I do more.
