I have Stop N Go with a Slime Compressor .. Only had to use it once on the Sportster but when I did was a blessing to have .. Both Take up very little room and well worthwhile Carrying even if never need them .. As much as I ride with a few others now and then nice to know got it handy to keep a flat from ruining the day...

I have carried and used the home-made version of the compact compressor ($9.99 Walmart) for 6-7 years. I use the old fashion string plugs ($4.99 Walmart).
I'm the in-house wrench for our rather large ride group, so my repair kit sees frequent use. I have not had a leaker immediately following a repair. The stop and go looks like a longer lasting repair. I still advise an inside patch or tube ASAP.

HERE is a link to the DIY mini air compressor.

I carry a Stop and Go and a small compressor I can plug into the lighter socket. Had a flat in rear tire last year at Moosehead lake in Maine and without that compressor I would have been screwed. No cell phone connection where I was.

string plugs and a Slime compressor. Came out of Lowes one day not too long ago, flat tire. Hooked the compressor up, began filling, found the nail, plugged with string plug and back on the road in about 15 minutes. Rode with that plug in there for 6,000 more miles til I swapped out the tire for a new one.

Ditto on the string plugs and Slime compressor. Also have a bottle of slime for innertubes.

Plugs have been used for years with no problems, they can be iffy if not properly installed. The stop and go type (mushroom) is better than the string type because it is harder to slip out on installation. The mushroom also acts as a small patch on the inside of the tire and the air pressure keeps in tight against the tire. I currently have a plug in one of my tires and commute 22 miles everyday to work with side trips on the weekend and feel pretty confident about it.
