Clint brings up a good point. In of all the motorcycle forums that I visit, I can't think of any time when I've read a post from someone who's had one of those little bells and been killed when riding. If one is good, more should be better. Same thing with deer whistles and St. Christopher medals.

Put the bells on - actually the only so called rule I ever heard about them is that you don't buy them for yourself. For them to work you must receive them from others who don't have to be riders. Any time any of my buddies get a bike, a new bike or I think they need some extra lookin' over I buy them a bell. So far everyone of them have stayed safe in their journeys. In fact, I gave one to a SF Colonel buddy of mine that did 11 deployments to Iraq. He kept it on his body gear. The sad part is his during his last deployment his unit was hit - he didn't make the ultimate sacrifice but 11 of his young men died protecting him. He now gives everyone he meets that goes into harms way a bell. He believes it was the bell that saved him - he told me there is no other reason for him to be alive.

Put the bells on and give bells to those that ride and go in harms way. I am a believer they keep the gremlins away and you safe.

Wait until you meet a new rider someplace that doesn't have one.

Then regift him one and make sure you tell him it is from you and your wife/buddy.

They are supposed to be given away as gifts.

It's all the same thing IMO, just depends on what the individual prefers to call it.

Amen to that!

As said before, it's the same thing, depending on who you talk to. The card in the package called it a Freedom Bell, so that's what I called it, but I explain it as keeping the Road Gremlins away. Also from the reaction of my fellow forum members I'll go ahead and mount my bell. Can never have too much protection.

I had two on the bike I have now, one from one of the guys in my sig photo and another one from the wife. He died earlier this year and his bell disappeared shortly afterwards, true story.
