I want/need to change my gas tank on my 09 EGS after a little Evel Kneviel act that I pulled a couple weeks ago.I usually do all my own work. After reading in the service manual it doesn't sound complicated.I know I need to buy the cam plate wrench to open the top of the tank.Anyone done this that has any pointers or ideas I'd sure appreciate the help.Actually any thoughts would be appreciated.
I found an 08 SG tank that I would like to put on to replace my tank.Does anyone know if this tank will fit right? I wonder if there are cosmetic issues like a big gap between the seat and tank or is the tank a direct fit swap. Thanks

Reason: stated year of possible replacement tank
Don't waste your money on the wrench. There are tabs on the cam lock, take a blunt piece of flat bar or something and gently tap each tab using the piece of whatever and hitting it with a rubber mallet. As you work your way around the tabs on the cam lock you will see it moving and "unlocking." Here's a pic of the tabs on the lock
