Just bought an '09. Forget anything for the back end, rear fender is totally different and so is the frame, meaning your back rest or luggage rack will not transfer.
Also, make sure you take it for a good test drive, my new '09 RG vibrates a lot more thatn my '07. Dealer say's its all part of the new stiffer frame... I have very mixed emotions.
Fron the '07 to the '09, the whole bike feels more refined, engine noise is less and the new transmission ratios make the bike seem faster and are much better space than the '07. I guess you get a little and give up a little... however my '07 was a smoothie!! Maybe a few miles will help.
just went from a 2007 ultra to a 2010 ultra limited so here is what I know will not change over, seat is not the same, I did use driver backrest but I had to make a bracket longer no big deal, I had a pair of lowering shocks on my 2007 that I kept and put on my 2010 but they bottomed out alot so I had to buy a set for 2009 and up lowering shocks, my 2007 had a sert on it but 2010 is different says HD so I just did the fatshotz mufflers and air filter and a HD download seems to be fine, good luck hope this helps steve
