Default Hard Lowers

Whats a set of vented hard lowers worth? I may have a chance to pick up a used set in perfect shape and they are the same color as my bike. They also come with the glove boxes and all the mounting hardware.

Think they're around $650 for painted ones.

price varies on how long the person had them and how fast they want to get rid of them, and how much the other person wants them, 50% of original price sounds reasonable

Looks like I can get them with the glove boxes and mounting hardware for $400. I just cant decide if its worth it to take the plunge and get them.

Used vented lowers are going for $350-$450 on ebay. I've been looking for a black set but haven't had much luck. You can get them new from Chicago Harley for $519 + shipping.

Is that with the glove boxes and mounting hardware included, from what I understand its extra?

I bought mine new and they came with everything I needed to mount them on the bike. By glove boxes, do you mean the rigid glove box doors? The stock glove boxes are part of the fairings but have the leather doors.

If you are talking about the new ones, then yes that is for the complete kit with hardware and glove boxes. Same thing for the used ones on ebay.

The non vented versions and just the lower shells are selling on ebay for less than $200/$250 for the most part.

Vented fairing lowers come with the glove boxes, etc. Buying from a 20% discounting HD dealer will cost about $520.00 plus shipping (Zanotti's HD, Chicago HD, etc.) The difference between brand new and used price would need to be very substantial, especially if you can't inspect the used lowers before buying: chips, scratches, and other surface damage is pretty common with fairing lowers.

You can check the 2010 P&A catalog, page 348 for a description of what's included with the vented lowers. HD's website has the same information.
